Yoga y Flamenco in Malaga

Yoga and Flamenco in Malaga

Why we chosen Malaga to organize the Yoga/ Flamenco holidays? The answer is simple, because of the great Mediterranean atmosphere, daily sunshine and beautiful surroundings. Also, there is a lot to explore, either relaxing at the beach, or shopping in Marbella, and visiting one of the many typical Spanish tapas bars in town.

We like to enjoy and do something extra for the participants of the Yoga holidays/ retreats, so for coming April we have a retreat combined with Flamenco classes, this is a great moment to learn something typical of the Spanish culture, you will learn to dance, and the lessons will be given by professional well know teacher.

Also there is a professional teacher for guitar lessons and Spanish lessons; this can be a nice option too! So in the mornings Meditation and Yoga and in the afternoon Flamenco classes, and later on, the opportunity to get guitar and Spanish lessons, so there is a lot to do 😉

Everything included, airport transfer, delicious healthy vegetarian meals, nice big and clean rooms with linen, beach towel, shampoo, soap and body lotion, free WiFi, Yoga,Meditation and Flamenco classes.

You and maybe one of your friends are more than welcome this coming December at Yoga Retreats Malaga, check our website and do not hesitate to contact us for more information

Yoga in the Winter

Yoga In The Winter

The busiest season for a yoga retreat is in the summer time. Most people leave their home country seeking sunshine and warm weather in order to enjoy a yoga holiday. However, what many people don’t know is that they can also enjoy a better experience during the winter time. This is especially true when you participate in yoga retreat during the winter in Costa del Sol, as the weather is still relatively warm in southern Spain, and the retreats are less crowded during that time of year.

Most people who join a retreat want to have the company of many other participants in order to enjoy a yoga experience with other people. However, this misses entirely the point of yoga retreat, which is to allow you the time to connect with yourself and explore parts of your being that you do not usually come into contact with. A yoga retreat is more than just a yoga holiday where you meet other people and do yoga poses. It is an opportunity to connect with yourself and discover who you really are and what you really want.

In reality most people join a retreat and they just want to enjoy a good time while doing yoga and eating healthy food. Also, they want to meet other people and make friends during their stay, as they discover the typical Spanish setting that surrounds them. This is perfectly fine, but it does not tackle the core problems that will affect you once you go back home. In fact, all that you are doing is delaying the pain of the inevitable reality that awaits you once you get home. That is why you need to take your time during your retreat and try your best to introspect and discover who you are. Do not use your time in mundane things that will not help you discover your true self. Take this opportunity and really get to know who yourself.

Winter allows you to precisely do that and discover who your being, as there are not many tourists in the cities and towns of Costa del Sol and the retreats aren’t crowded with many participants that will distract you from your experience. Therefore, do not hesitate and contact us, we can help you fulfill that experience and give you all the tools you need to really make a change in your life. All that you need is that you take action and allow us to help you to connect with your true self.

Yoga Quotes from our Teachers

We all yoga practitioners have read once a quote that inspired us on certain moments in our life.
Here at Yoga Retreats Malaga, we teach our yoga sessions in the mornings inspired  from the traditional ashtanga method of Shri K. Pattabhi Jois, who was student of Krishnamacharya, a renowned Indian guru from the 20th century.
And nowadays by his grandson  R. Sharath Jois, yoga master, who continues teaching many students from all over the word, exactly as he learned from his grandfather, in the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India.

Today we want to share with you, some of the best yoga quotes of our main teachers.
Some of them maybe you hear before. And the ones from Sharath has been collected from his last conferences or interviews.
You can share it with your friends, using them when you teach, or simply read it to get inspired during your yoga holiday!
Hope you enjoy it:

-Nowadays, the practice of yoga stops with just asanas. Very few even attempt dharana and dhyana (deeper meditation) with seriousness. There is a need to search once more and reestablish the practice and value of yoga in modern times.
Tirumalai Krishnamacharya

-Teach what is inside you.
Not as it applies to you, to yourself,
but as it applies to the other.
Tirumalai Krishnamacharya

-Anyone can practice. Young man can practice. Old man can practice. Very old man can practice. Man who is sick, he can practice. Man who doesn’t have strength can practice. Except lazy people; lazy people can’t practice Ashtanga yoga.
K. Pattabhi Jois

-Do your practice and all is coming.
K. Pattabhi Jois

-Body is not stiff, mind is stiff.
K. Pattabhi Jois

-It is very important to understand yoga philosophy: without philosophy, practice is not good, and yoga practice is the starting place for yoga philosophy. Mixing both is actually the best.
K. Pattabhi Jois

-Yoga is 99% practice and 1% theory.
K. Pattabhi Jois

-Change yourself within. That is yoga
R.Sharath Jois

-Yoga is my breath and my heart .
R. Sharath Jois

-You should not be practicing to have a good practice but instead to keep steadiness within yourself.
R. Sharath Jois

-Yoga is the only practice which makes your mind peaceful, and gives good health not only physically but mentally also.
R. Sharath Jois
